In the prema frost about the only tree that can live are the black spruce and they do not look all that healthy trying to live in the frozen ground. It looked like they had all burned, but was told that they have had a drought and the trees had died. Well one of the first plants to appear are fireweed. It is beautiful and they take the flowers and make jelly.
