Yesterday we went to the Childress Winery and had a wonderful lunch. It is owned by NASCAR Sprint Cup championship team owner Richard Childress and is located in Lexington, North Carolina. The winery has received many awards for their wines. The grapes are grown here on the grounds and are also purchased locally. The winery has tasting rooms,gift shop, and a Italian style Bistro open for lunch. Richard Childress is also a primary sponsor of the annual Lexington Barbecue Festival held in October. 
Rog and Laura are in front of the winery. We had a great lunch. This is our third visit to the winery. We really love coming here. We came in 2004 when the winery first opened. The grapes were very small and not many in the ground, but now they are big and many. We are planning on meeting my cousin here again soon for lunch. Now the next two blogs are pigs from the Lexington, North Carolina Barbecue Festival.
