Sally's

Forgot to ask if Sally has named this guy or not.  It is a wonderful piece of art.
Sally and her new toy.  She drives this up into the back of her Jeep and way she goes.  She just got this on her last trip.
Rog and I are out for a spin.
The last toy was not big enough I guess.  So out we go for another spin.
Notice that I am the one looking forward watching the road and I am the one holding on for dear life.  I know what to expect on the road with Sally because I have been in the car she drove up to Eureka Springs.  LOL  It's a long story.
Rog and I are out for a spin and so far I am not holding on for dear life, but then again he has not started the engine yet either.
Journey over and off we drive into the sunset...can't be, it is noon, it sounds good though.

Sally had a wonderful evening planned for us.  We went into Branson, Mo for dinner and a show.  We ate and had drinks at Micky Gilley's restaurant and then to his show.  We found out that two years ago he was helping a friend move a love set.  He picked up one end and the friend pick up the other and they headed out the door and Micky stepped off into a flowerbed and the love seat fell on him and he woke up two days later paralyzed for the neck down.  He went into extensive therapy and is still and is able to walk and move his arms.  His balance is still off.  The doctors do not think he will ever be able to play the piano again.  He was noted for his singing and wonderful piano playing.  He put on a wonderful show!!!

Micky Gilley on stage.
He is 76 years old and still has a great voice.

Thank you Sally for a great night.

Come on people balance and truth all of the truth.

The Six Pack/ Eureka Springs, Arkansas

Simon
Like I mentioned yesterday we are at Sally's beautiful home visiting her and the six pack. I thought I would introduce you to the pack. A pic of Sally to follow, but maybe not important things first.

Stuart
Yes this is the same dog.

Sammy, cute enough to rate two pics

Sydney

Suzy

Sophie
The next few pics are of Sally's home and RV park.

Today we went to Eureka Springs, Arkansas to see the sights and eat a delicious caramel apple.  Well it must have been a big bikers weekend event because we could not find a parking spot anywhere and besides we probably did not want to be out among them any way.  So we did not get to eat our apple, but Sally said she would send me an email with a pic of her eating one.  Yes, Sally that's the same as being there and having one of my own.  Coming home on the twisty, turny road I got car sick and we had to stop.  That hasn't happened to me since I was a really little kid.

This was taken outside the car window so maybe a little blurry, but just a sampling of the fun being had in town and why we did not stay long. lol
This beauty was stuck on the grill of the motor home when we got here.  So pretty.
This is the underside.  You can not really see in pic, but the white spots are really silver and shined in the light.

We got up and headed for Harrison, Arkansas to the home of our friend Sally. It was a great trip with wonderful country to look at.

We spotted this hill side covered with goats.  Reminded me of the story Heidi.

This is a pic of the
Buffalo River. The Buffalo National River flows free over swift running rapids and quiet pools for its 135-mile length. One of the few remaining rivers in the lower 48 states without dams, the Buffalo cuts its way through massive limestone bluffs traveling eastward through the Arkansas Ozarks and into the White River. It was the first National River to be designated in the United States.

It was good to see Sally and to see the six pack again.  The six pack is what we call her six dogs.  I do not have any pics of Sally or the six pack for this blog, but will get the camera out tomorrow and take some of Sally's place and introduce you to the six pack.

We were served lunch and a delicious dinner Sally made herself.  We visited and stayed up way late so will just have a short blog and turn in.

I do have a few cartoons for you.

This poor dude has had a rough life let alone a rough week.

Girls pay attention to the next cartoon.  A frog story for Laura. lol different ending than most, yes.

boating

Got up and out and was able to take this great pic of the sunrise.  The camera eye is not as good as the human eye.  Just double the color and brightness of this and you have what my eyes saw.  It was great.

Since we are leaving this campground tomorrow we decided to take one last kayak trip.  It was a great morning no wind and we saw lots of birds, butterflies, flowers, berries, and fish.

Again I took my camera and took over 400 pics so here are a few of the more interesting and pretty ones.

Interesting butterfly or moth.  Notice there are two sets of wings; the lighter wings are horizontal and the darker wings are vertical

The butterfly below is really pretty.

Another feather in the water pic.  This time the feather is floating the opposite way than the other and not as much sunlight on it.

We also come upon some delicious looking berries along the waters edge.

Woodpecker of some sort.  I love the pic below of him reaching for what I assume is a yummy bug.

A beautiful red bird above me in a tree.

Below is a snowy egret. We saw so many of these at the waters edge fishing.

This is an amazing site to me.  We are under a storm watch now.  I sat down to do this blog and looked out the front window of the rig and saw this.  It is a large group of pelicans hanging out in a safe place to ride out the storm.

Rog is stalking a snowy egret.  He has gotten a lot closer to them than I could get.  This is as close as he got because it flew away soon after this pic was taken.

We also saw some flowers along the way.   The orange flower reminds me of a lily of some kind and the white flower below that reminds me of a hibiscus.

I must start this part of the blog with I do not have a fishing pole, hooks, lines, sinkers, no fishing stuff at all, but I still caught this large catfish.  Read on....

While floating along the edge of the water I spotted round metal thingys hanging from the trees and bushes.  Just before this I came upon a string strung between to tree branches out a ways in the water.  After investigating I found attached to all that string a fishing pole and reel submersed in the water.  It had been there a while and was all tangled so I left it.  So I wanted to know what was with these metal disks.  There were about 6 or 7 most were just attached to the branch of the tree, I thought tangled.  Some had line going into the water, but when I pulled on the line there was nothing at the other end, not a hook or weight, just string.  Then the last one something was pulling on the line and when I came up to it I found a big catfish.  So now I know that they are remote fishing lines.  Now that is cheating.  You should have to be out there in the elements getting bit by insects, waiting forever for the darn fish to bite.  What's this about setting traps and coming back in your leisure to find a fish at the end of your line. They even appeared like they had not been tended to for a long time and the poor fish was left to starve!  So I let him go!  He lives another day.

You can really see the small reel like thing attached to the tree with the line going out.  This one the line going out had a hook and fish on the end. It also had some kind of release because the line could go in and out as the fish pulled it.  Well this one is located somewhere else.  I'm bad.

These cartoons are so on the money and really not funny.
