This is Mt. Redoubt part of the Aleutian chain of islands that extend west over 1,700 miles. Mt Redoubt raises 10,000 ft. above sea level. It had a major eruption in 1989 and continued through 1990 and then subsided to steam then was quite active again in 2009 for months. Hopefully it will stay quite a little longer.
