On the way to the gold mine we stopped at one of the pumping stations along the Alaska Pipeline. Tom was able to spend the day with us and able to go on this tour too. We are standing in front of one of the supports for the pipe. the pipe is resting on a square pad that can and does slid from side to side with expansion and earthquakes.
